AAV2-mRFP is the serotype 2 rAAV which expresses mRFP under the CMV promoter. AAV2-mRFP express a monomeric red fluorescent protein mutant from Discosoma (DsRed) , overcome the tetramerization which is toxic to cells. mRFP can be used as a reporter in target cells. Used as a control.
